The F-HB800P Polyimide Coated Polarization Maintaining Fiber uses Fibercore's Bow-Tie polarization maintaining (PM) fiber technology. This highly birefringent (HiBi) fiber, is optimized for operation between 830 - 1060 nm and has a beat-length of less than 2 mm. The beat-length, the length over which the fiber polarization rotates through 360°, is one of the fundamental performance measures: the shorter the beat-length, the better the polarization-preserving properties of the fiber. This Polarization Maintaining fiber has a 125 μm cladding, 145 μm coating, a 4.2 μm Mode Field Diameter, and a 0.14 to 0.18 NA. Standard pricing is per meter.
Polyimide Coated PM Fiber withstands temperatures as high as 400°C short-term and 300°C continuous. It is ideal for medical sensing application where fiber must be sterilized at high temperature, or withstand curing temperatures of the high performance laminates.
