We’ve incorporated our Picomotor™ actuators with our gothic-arch-bearing translation stages to achieve the ultimate in stability and rigidity along with remote-control operation. When ordering specify which axis or axes you wish motorized with a “P” in the model number for Picomotor actuator, and “N” for manual micrometer. For instance, Model 9062-XY-PN is for a motorized X-axis and a manual Y-axis. All necessary clamps, brackets and base plates are included so that the stage can be used right out of the box.

These motorized stages offer stainless-steel construction, thumbscrew locks, and 13-mm travel ranges. They are ideal for demanding applications in the laboratory, OEM, or on the manufacturing floor. Gothic-arch bearings offer the smooth motion of ball bearings but high stiffness and repeatability. The unique gothic profile provides increased contact area so that the load and momentum are more
evenly distributed.

To drive and control the Picomotor actuators, we offer driver kits which are sold separately. For example, the Model 8742-4-KIT controls up to four individual Picomotor actuators (and can be expanded by adding up to 31 Model 8742 driver modules). It includes a power supply and USB cable. Note that for applications requiring simultaneous independent control of each Picomotor actuator, it would be necessary to have one independent Model 8742 controller/driver module dedicated for driving of each individual Picomotor actuator. It is ready for computer control by using an Ethernet cable or USB. The eight-axis version of this driver kit is Model 8742-8-KIT . Related products include the Model 8758 handpad.
