National Instruments is partnering with Honeywell to offer a wide range of bridge-based load cells, pressure transducers, and torque sensors. NI has tested each of these sensors and verified them for use with the NI PXIe-4330, NI PXIe-4331, and NI 9237 devices. Each sensor is TEDS enabled for ease of use. There are two different types of cable assemblies: one for RJ50 connectivity and one for pigtail connectivity. NI offers cables in lengths of 3 ft (783252-01 and 783255-01), 15 ft (783253-01 and 783256-01), and 25 ft (783254-01 and 783257-01).
The Honeywell Model 41 is a low-profile “pancake” load cell. These bonded foil, strain gage load cells are engineered to measure loads from 5 lb to 500,000 lb (100 lb to 10,000 lb ranges available through NI). The tension/compression Model 41 is designed with the threaded hole running completely through the center of the cell. Model 41 uses two stabilizing diaphragms, which are welded to the sensing member to reduce off-center and side-loading effects. It provides high performance for nonlinearity, hysteresis, and repeatability specifications in such applications as tube mills, extruding processes, and weighing. Each unit has a welded construction and can be hermetically sealed for added durability. Model 41 load cells are available with optional 0 VDC to 5 VDC or 4 mA to 20 mA output.
