M Series Basic Research Mounts

Newport’s M family of mirror mounts set the new standard for affordability in a focused selection of kinematic optical mounts. M-series mounts are available in Aperture, Clear Edge, CenterPoint™ Platform, and Side-Clamp versions. All can be adjusted in an angular range of +/- 4° with two high-precision 100-TP fine adjustment screws. The M1M2 andM1Q are an are constructed from an all aluminum body / frame and have either a standard aperture or a clear edge aperture. The 100-TPI adjusters are threaded directly into the frame of the mount improving thermal stability and reducing the need for additional bonding adhesives. The M1M1Q and M1-P2 mounts also have a built-in horizontal mounting feature eliminating the need for additional adaptors. M1-1DM1-1D

Center The M1-CP is unique because it locates the mirror’s surface on the intersection of mounting post’s rotation axis and the optical axis allowing easier setups. The M1-RQ and M1-RA versions have an integrated post clamp for mounting directly to standard 0.5 in. (12.7 mm) optical posts (SP Series). They are available in an apertured version as well as one for mounting square optics. UPA Series adapters, which are compatible with the M1 mount, allow various other sizes and types of optics to be securely held and positioned. A horizontal as well as a rear mounting feature provides flexible positioning even in tight areas.
