Gimbal Mirror Mounts

A gimbal mount has axes of rotation which intersect at the center of the front surface of the optic which eliminates unwanted linear beam translation during adjustment. This is particularly important when you don\'t want to lengthen or shorten your optical path length after an adjustment. Gimbal With Traditional Gimbals, since the rotation is typically guided by an axel, they can be positioned over a full 360° in both axes. Mounts using this mechanism, however, tend to be larger more expensive. As a result, hybrid designs combining the best attributes of kinematic and axel mechanisms have immerged which have the stability and lower cost of a kinematic design yet still provide pure pitch/yaw rotation about the mirror\'s center point.
