The Pedestal Post System enables ultra-stable mounting of optical components however, during an optical experiment setup, pedestal-mounted optic holders are accidentally knocked over, damaging or destroying the optic. This problem can result in significant delays and high replacement costs. To help reduce this risk, Newport has introduced the PS-Series Magnetic Pedestal Posts, which provide a strong 5-lb. magnetic hold, allowing experimenters to securely position and actually align their optical mounts prior to clamping them down.

Tip MagTo avoid pinching, PS-Z series magnets have aligned polarities so they will repel each other.

Not only does this reduce the potential for damaging optical components, it also greatly increases the speed and efficiency with which an experiment can be set up. Made from precision ground stainless steel, these 1 in. (25.4 mm) diameter posts maintain long-term optical system alignment. Slotted clamping forks secure pedestals anywhere on an optical table.

MagMagnetic Pedestal posts are available in two other diameters: the SP-Z series with 0.5-in. (12.7 mm) diameters and the SR-Z series with 1.5-in. (38.1 mm) diameters.MagThe PS-Z magnetic pedestal post family has some new hieghs: 0.5-in. (12.7-mm), 1.5-in. (38.1-mm), and 2.5-in. (63.5-mm)
