N-BK7 or UV fused silica substrates
Our broadband dielectric beamsplitters are designed to provide general purpose laser beamsplitting and combining for visible through near infrared applications. Each coating is essentially achromatic across a wide spectral band so that a single optic will work for the entire range of a particular tunable laser, for several laser diode wavelengths, or for most visible laser wavelengths. The precision optical substrate has a dielectric beamsplitter coating on the front surface. The back surface is antireflection coated to prevent ghosting. A slight wedge in the substrate virtually eliminates internal fringes. S-polarized beams will be equally split with R/T = 50/50 at 45° incidence.
A p-polarized beam yields a split of R/T = 30/70. In unpolarized light, the performance is typically R/T = 40/60. These beamplitters are available in either N-BK7 for general use, or UV grade fused silica for optimal wavefront and thermal stability. Coating options cover the visible to near infrared regions.
