High quality, uncoated windows for high power use in output coupling & beam steering; 1° or 3°wedge. Polished with a wedge angle of 1° or 3°, these uncoated high quality wedged windows are used to prevent interference due to stray back reflection, or for beam deviation. Available from stock in N-BK7 or fused silica. Custom coatings, sizes, wedge, and substrate options are available upon request.

Large wedge windows are uncoated windows with a larger wedge of 1° or 3°.  A wedged window is very effective in preventing interference due to stray back reflection, as in output coupling in high gain and sensitive lasers.  The wedged surface deviates the transmitted beam by a small angle, while the reflected beam is deviated by a larger angle.   This is very useful for beam-steering, as two wedge prisms of equal power can be combined to achieve continuously variable tuning of the deflection angle through a cone defined by the deviation angle.  Available in N-BK7 or UV-grade fused silica, they are polished to a surface flatness of λ/10 and surface quality of 10-5 scratch dig, resulting in low scatter, low wavefront distortion, and high beam control, even at high powers.
