Moderate power broadband UV neutral density filters with uniform wavelength attenuation; 250 - 2500 nm. With minimal variation in attenuation with wavelength over a broad wavelength band, these UV filters coated with Inconel® metal alloy on fused silica offer dependable performance for moderate power applications. They are available in a wide range of OD\'s and sizes for use at wavelengths from 250 - 2500 nm.

Metallic neutral density filters attenuate light through a combination of reflection and absorption.  The variation in attenuation with wavelength of our unique metal alloy Inconel® coating is superior to use of a pure metal, allowing the transmitted spectral distribution to remain unchanged.  Coated on fused silica, these neutral density filters maintain their consistent OD from 250 - 2500 nm.  A wide selection are available from stock, and on a quick-turn semi-custom basis in a variety of optical densities and sizes, including 50 mm squares.  Metallic neutral density filters are ideal for wide aperture applications, and for use at operating temperatures from -73°C to +150°C.  They are suitable for use at power up to 25 W/cm2, though they are not recommended for use with pulsed lasers since high peak powers can ablate the metal coating.  These filters are also available in sets (NDQ and FSQ series).
