Laser quality, low aberration beam expanding lens for high energy laser and performance-critical applications; 185 nm – 2.1 μm. Ideal for high performance and high power beam expansion and aberration-balancing tasks in the UV through near-infrared, these fused silica plano-concave lenses reduce aberrations when used at near-infinite conjugate ratio. They are offered in a wide range of focal lengths and diameters, with a large selection of optional high energy AR coatings.

Laser quality fused silica plano-concave lenses are used to expand light, increase focal lengths, or to balance aberrations from other lenses within a system . They diverge collimated incident light for high energy and performance-critical applications.  UV-grade fused silica offers superior transmission in the UV through near-infrared, as well as improved homogeneity, thermal stability, and damage threshold as compared to N-BK7.  The plano-concave design reduces spherical aberration and coma when used at near-infinite conjugate ratio, with the concave surface facing the longest conjugate distance.  This makes them most useful to diverge input collimated light when building Galilean type beam expanders.  High surface quality and surface accuracy ensure best wavefront quality, minimized scattered light and excellent laser damage threshold.  Contact CVI Laser Optics for custom dimensions, focal lengths and OEM capabilities.
