High quality focusing and collimating lens for high energy deep-UV excimer laser use; 185 nm – 2.1 μm. Made from excimer-grade fused silica, these precision-polished plano-convex lenses offer minimal fluorescence and high performance for focusing and collimating tasks at 248 nm and below. They are offered in a wide range of focal lengths and diameters, with a large selection of optional high energy AR coatings.

Excimer-grade fused silica plano-convex lenses are used for converging or focusing of light in high energy excimer lasers at wavelengths as low as 193 nm.  Excimer-grade fused silica has been specially selected and controlled to have near-zero defects for use with high energy KrF lasers at 248 nm (Corning 7980 KrF-grade 0A).  It has very low levels of inclusions, bubbles, and striae, high homogeneity, and ≥ 99.8%/cm internal transmittance @ 248 nm.  Its exhibits a low laser induced fluorescence, strong resistance to radiation-induced defect generation, and excellent resistance to damage by high energy UV laser radiation.  ArF-grade lenses are available upon request with 99.5%/cm internal transmission at 193 nm. The plano-convex design exhibits reduced spherical aberrations and coma for conjugate ratios greater than 5:1, with performance closely approaching that of the best form shape when used at infinite conjugate ratios.  Best performance is achieved when a point source is incident on the flat surface while collimating light, or when collimated light is incident on the convex surface while focusing light.   High surface quality and surface accuracy ensure best wavefront quality, minimized scattered light and excellent laser damage threshold.  Contact CVI Laser Optics for custom dimensions, focal lengths and OEM capabilities.
